Military Rites will be conducted by the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932.

Ronnie J. Gangloff, 77, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 1:56 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.

Born in Ste. Marie, Illinois on June 17, 1935, he was the son of Charles J. “Charlie” Gangloff and Edna M. (Shryock) Gangloff.  Ronnie graduated from Oblong High School ~ Class of 1954.  He retired in 1984 from the U. S. Navy where he served in the Submarine Corp. during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War; later he was an over the road truck driver.  He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong, Illinois; Crawford County V. F. W. Post #4549 and Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932.  Ronnie enjoyed working on cars and home remodeling.

Ronnie is survived by a son, Russell Lee Gangloff; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gaylord R. Gangloff and Lee Allen & Joetta Gangloff; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Angelita M. & Richard Seamon and Patricia A. Moore and several nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Charles F. “Buddy” Gangloff, Jack James Gangloff, Emanuel “Jim” Gangloff, Arthur Wayne Gangloff, Norman Lewis Gangloff and his Ronnie’s twin brother, Donald Dean Gangloff.

Ronnie’s wish was to be cremated.  Cremation rites have been accorded with burial in Ste. Marie Cemetery at a later date.
